after recent update application displayed message it doesn’t support my hardware (macbook air), so I spent money on something what is simply useless. it should be withdrawn from the app store until its main functionality is fixed.

Consider visiting the developer’s website and downloading a demo before you purchase this. As it turns out, it launches with a warning that it’s incompatible with the microphone plugged into my mac, and the device (a plain old USB headset) shows up in Micro Snitch’s menu as “Unsupported." Your mileage may vary, but this is a very fundamental limitation: it can’t watch my default input device. That makes its monitoring useless in the most likely audio input scenario.

So I paid for a utility that will tell me when I am being spied on then I see an update come through telling me that they can’t even support my built-in webcam. That makes this utility useless and means I WASTED my money on more fluff Apple let’s through their gates. Will seek a refund for incomplete product being marketed with more features than currently available.

Cool App, Needs to work on all platforms

Will switch to 5 stars after MBP 13 Retina Camera Snitch works. Great App along with Little Snitch. Both are great software and highly recommended.

There is a very long list of Apple Mac products this App does not support. Which makes one wonder what on earth it is doing in the Mac App store. Good idea but insanely bad execution. The irony is that you buy the app to protect yourself from scams and other nefarious activities and it kind of feels like a scam itself. Total and complete BS.

Okaaaayyy… So, tell me exactly (E.X.A.C.T.L.Y) W.H.Y we are keeping this STUPID app on the Apple App Store if it doesn’t work with Apple products. Go ahead, call me stupid - which I probably am anyway, but it was highly recommended. Now tomorrow I will try to get a refund. This app isn’t worth $.99, let alone $4.00! And why do keep it on the store if it doesn’t work with Apple products? No Duh….I wouldn’t even give it one star.

does not work at all

Long time user.

Just installed on an M2, working fine. Wishlist: Allow color control over menubar and overlay. Allow animation off for overlay, allow animation on for menubar. Allow per app control list (white/black/notify). Allow overlay and/or animation disappear/stop after some seconds option (10? or customizable) Glad I bought it again. Previously bought with littlesnitch in bundles over the years, it's currently available free from their website directly, but wanted to check this version and support the project.

Totally what I was looking for.....

There are few, if any, apps out there that monitor the connections to your Mac and notifiy you if the cam is recording and other things........

Lightweight app for peace of mind

I like how the app is small and resource efficient. I had to switch to an alternative for some time on my M1 MacBook Pro due to it constantly showing false positives, but the issue is now fully resolved, many thanks for the fix!

Thank you for updating to support Apple Silicon

I was hoping this app would update to support my M1 MacBook, and toady is the day! Thank you developers for updating your app with this support. I'm a big fan.

Appstore download stalls with Catalina

Appstore download stalls with Catalina. It's unusable.

Simple but imortant

This is a good one. It's by the makers of Little Snitch, a very popular and trusted network privacy monitor. Don't pay attention to the old reviews saying that some devices don't work. It's worked great for me over the past year.

Stops monitoring onboard microphone on 2017 15" MacBook Pro

Hello. Im giving this 2 stars so that someone will come fix this issue quickly. It will revert to 5 stars once it is fixed. Basically the app stops monitoring the onboard microphone on the laptop once my audio interface is connected (which doesn’t support MicroSnitch). I would still like it to monitor the onboard mic even though my audio interface is attatched as the default interface because there is still the possibility that it could be turned on without my knowledge. Thanks. Great app otherwise.

Since I don’t want to put “tape” on my MacBook...

I am using the MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) with OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan (15G1004) and have zero issues with operation. It works exactly as described by showing notifications as well as logging activity for later review. Excellent program that keeps your Mac looking “professional” but you can always play it safe and add the tape if you’re paranoid. If you are concerned about equipment compatibility, they offer a free, download to test and see if it works so I’d recommend that before buying it and then complaining it does not work.

Does not work with VAST MAJORITY of Mac products
